Tuesday, Capitals goaltender Braden Holtby celebrated his day with the Stanley Cup by bringing the championship trophy back to his old stomping grounds in Saskatchewan. Holtby visited his family’s farm in Marshall and brought the Cup to the CN SportsPlex in Lashburn where his youth hockey team used to play.
Later in the afternoon, Brandi Holtby commemorated her husband’s accomplishment by presenting him with a cake masterfully prepared and designed by her cousin.
It’s a replica Stanley Cup featuring Holtby’s name as well as the Capitals’ weagle logo.

Of course the couple posed in front of the baked good masterpiece.

While the Stanley Holtcake is impressive, it does not match the absurdity of Alex Ovechkin’s show-stopping Moscow dessert. Ovechkin’s Frozen-inspired Stanley Cup cake was at least two feet tall and featured a rotating Ovi figurine and pyrotechnics.
