Alex Ovechkin had his day with the Stanley Cup on Saturday and he’s been a busy man.
After bringing the NHL’s championship trophy to a World Cup fanfest event, Ovechkin took Lord Stanley’s Cup to the Novogorsk headquarters of his former KHL/Russian Super League team, Dynamo Moscow.
After being honored during a ceremony and taking photos with kids, Ovechkin strapped on his skates and took a lap around the rink while raising the Stanley Cup.

Ovechkin also made sure to take a photo with his dad out on the ice, as Mikhail gave a happy thumbs up. Earlier in the visit, Mikhail got to raise the Stanley Cup for the first time as he stayed at home in Russia during the Caps championship run.
